Back in the fall of 2001, I was attending college at Winona State University in Winona, MN.  I had always wanted to run my own business but I was not sure what that business would be.  Then one night, I was at a party at this sweet pad with a spiral staircase and remote controlled lights.  I was pondering why I did not live in that house when a business idea occurred to me.  I realized that the reason I did not live there was because I did not know about the place.  I thought, If I could start an off-campus listing service in Winona that I would always know about the best places to live before anyone else.  I threw a dart at the calendar and decided I would be in business by that date.  I built a webpage and sure enough, I had my first paying customer 3 days before my desired date.

I learned a lot that first year, but most importantly, I learned that nothing beats working for yourself, making your own money, and making your own hours.  I also learned that no college job I could have got would pay me the roughly $25,000 I made that year while attending college full time.  Luckily, I also wrote down everything I learned in a manual.

Enough about me. Where do you come in.  I have decided to give students the same opportunity I created for myself.  I am looking for a motivated student or group of students at each college or university in the United States, that want to own their own business and follow my manual to duplicate what I did. Space will be limited as only one person will be allowed to do this at each campus. 

Why I would do this?  The reason is simple.  This business can succeed on every campus in the country but I do not have the time or resources to visit each one.  I also know that I have been fortunate to have some great high paying jobs in Internet advertising mostly based on the skills I learned from running Findaplacetolive.com.  You can also acquire those same skills by running your own branch of Findaplacetolive.com. 

So how does it work?

How will you make money?  This is the most important question for you.  Landlords have to pay money to advertise their properties to students like you.  Obviously, they want to pay the least amount of money for the most effective and easiest form of advertising.  You are going to be the cheapest, most effective and easiest form of advertising.  How?  Because Findaplacetolive.com is easily the most efficient off-campus housing listing service which allows us to charge landlords as low as $50/year per property.  Every time a landlord signs up for your service, YOU not me, will collect the $50.  At the end of each month, you will simply send me 25% ($12.50/per property) of what you have earned.  So for every  $50 you bring in, you keep $37.50.  Think of how many rental properties are around your campus.  Sounds great right.  I can trust you with the cash because I track everything you do, and will simply turn off your site if you do not pay me.
